About the Department
The goals of the School of Global Studies, Hallym University are to foster students to be internationally able talented persons in each major field of study in educating them. The students in the School of Global Studies get to develop their capabilities as global talented persons by completing major classes with the systematic foreign language education.
When they become seniors, they take another step towards their goals by graduating from the university with necessary professional knowledge and skills based on these experiences. Above all, the important points are to be able to develop sense and sensibility as the global talented persons through the curriculums of 4 years. And they will be born again as the important talented persons who can make a contribution to society. All the professors and staff members in the School of Global Studies will generously support students to strengthen their spirit of challenge and solve difficulties that they can experience in the curriculums. These differentiated efforts of the School of Global Studies will be the foundation to maximize individual students' ability with special interests and under the guidance of professors.

Competitiveness Program
SAP is the required conditions that students in the School of Global Studies have to graduate from it. The students who participate in it will grow talented persons suitable for global business environments after graduation through international experiences and knowledge obtained in other countries.
The students in the School of Global Studies get to select each major and decide their partner universities by consulting with their advisors about the classes and universities that they are interested in when they are sophomores. All the students who participate in SAP get to pay tuition of the applicable semesters and the university bear tuition of the applicable exchange universities (Students bear all other expenses except the tuition.) The student in the School of Global Studies who become sophomores through these courses start SAP for a year.
But, the students have to satisfy the conditions required for the partner universities to participate in SAP (TOEFL scores, grades of the Hallym University, etc.) The administrative office of the School of Global Studies will completely support this process until they come back to Hallym University after finishing SAP.
Even after coming back to Korea, the students will continue to accumulate international experiences through various programs provided by the School of Global Studies and get opportunities to combine practical experiences obtained from other countries with the academic ability. And above all, students will develop their ability to look at the world and receive globally competitive education by meeting various and thoughtful contents about their major fields through this opportunity.
The School of Global Studies has four majors as below.

About the Major
Experts of international trade and business with cosmopolitan outlooks and professional knowledge.
The goals of the major in Global Business are to foster experts of international trade and business with professional knowledge and cosmopolitan outlooks that meet the era of internationalization by having theories and practical business skills of international trade and strengthening the development of professional human resources with excellent foreign language proficiency. The major's curriculums are composed as follow:

- Learning English and second languages (Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish) to adapt to the international business environment.

Legal Informatics & Forensic Science
About the Major
The Legal Informatics & Forensic Science major has provided opportunities to participate in practice for undergraduates through business agreements with the Kangwon Provincial Police Agency, the Korea Police Investigation Academy, the money economy, and information security agencies and has entered exchange agreements with overseas excellent universities of the Digital Forensic Science field to foster human resources with cosmopolitan outlooks. The major in Legal Informatics & Forensic Science has been composed to make students experience subjects' diversity and have more subject choices by opening various general education subjects that can satisfy educational desire of students who are interested in information security, criminal investigation, forensic science, and criminal psychology and the intensive curriculums.

The purposes of the major in Legal Informatics & Forensic Science are to foster international information security experts required for ICT society through the curriculums to be able to strengthen and develop foreign language ability and practical business skills by escaping from the humanities and social science-centered curriculums .

As cyber security problems according to data spill have recently had increased awareness, social demands for experts in the forensic science field, especially, the digital forensic field have rapidly increased. In case of Information forensic Science, students will have opportunities to be active in various fields of government branches, security enterprises, corporate audit, law firms, etc. as experts.
Cultural Industry
About the Major
Today, the interest and importance of the cultural industry is increasing worldwide. The Culture Industry Major in Hallym University is specialized in business administration which is included in the field of 'culture' and learns about the planning and operation of various cultural contents such as entertainment, performances, conventions, exhibitions, festivals, events and tourism.
In addition to business management approach to culture, we provide differentiated education for various leisure and service sectors during the semester. For example, we offer practical exercises for unique areas such as horse riding, golf, skiing, barista, and wine. Foreign students or students with double major can apply for this major.
