The College of General Education practices learner-centered innovative General Education.
Young people live in the new worlds that the previous generation cannot experience in any age. The future that the current young generation will experience will be expected to be a time of turbulence that nobody will do in human history.

Hallym's Communication Education Center was established to train students to become competent in critical thinking and have the ability to express themselves effectively with appropriate rationale. In this knowledge information society, critical thinking skills, innovative ways to solve problems together with advanced written and spoken communication skills are considered ever more important. Therefore, the Communication Education Center runs a wide range of programmes such as Academic Writing and Public Speaking Skills which better prepares Hallym students with highly advanced thinking skills.

1 Writing counseling Various types of writing including reports (General assignment reports, investigation reports, experimental reports, etc.), summary, presentation materials, graduation essays, book reports, essays, resume, cover letters, plans for contests
(* Counseling by stage including planning, composition, and amendment of writing is possible.)
2 Presentation discussion counseling Various types of presentation and discussion including presentation of majors and liberal arts, presentation of studies, presentation of intramural and extracurricular contests, interviews for employment, etc.
(* In case of presentation and discussion, counseling by stage including the selection of themes, the composition of contents, presentation and discussion summary, presentation and discussion documents, actual presentation and discussion, etc. )
(* But, in case of the presentation of majors and literal arts, counseling is done within the range of harming applicable subjects' characteristics and autonomy.)

Access to the web site of the Communication Education Center, Click 'Apply for counseling' in the Communication Clinic, Write and register the contents for applying for counseling (Upload correction writing), Complete the application for counseling

How to apply for the visit
Visiting the education and training team, the College of General Education, Apply for it in the writing field desk directly, Submit the date of counseling and correction writing, Complete the application for it.
Hallym book log (Will be applied to class of 2016)
Students autonomically enter their reading records in the Odyssey system and create their portfolios of reading activities. The can receive 1 credit when reading records of total 12 books are certified until the end of 4th semester (The 2nd semester of the second year)
If they could not receive the credit until the second semester of the second year, the existing reading certification points are changed to 'Odyssey Mileage' from the 1st semester of the third year.
If they could not receive the credit until the second semester of the second year, the existing reading certification points are changed to 'Odyssey Mileage' from the 1st semester of the third year.
The final credit recognition conditions: Total 12 books / 6 books of 100 Hallym Books until the 2nd semester of the 2nd year (Designated books) + 6 books freely selected by students.

Global activities
Students in this university can meet various foreign cultures by participating in global activities autonomically and increase global civic consciousness through the exchange with overseas students. Can learn the global mind and value of volunteer works through the volunteer activities arranged by the non-subject activities.
Can experience cultural diversity by communicating with students in various areas.
Autonomous service certification (Will be applied to class of 2016)
Tries to encourage autonomous volunteer activities of students to communicate with and consider others and find the sharing meaning.
Students need to plan and practice volunteer works initiatively to broaden understanding of people with various backgrounds and practice a sense of responsibility about neighors and society.
Can expand citizens' knowledge, leadership, sympathy, and communication through the opportunities of self-examination before and after the volunteer activities

Lifelong educator course
Lifelong Educator means the profession engaged in the lifelong educational institutions and facilities with national licenses specified in Article 24, the Lifelong Education Act. The purposes of this course are to foster lifelong educator human resources (2-level license) who will be responsible for the following duties in accordance with Article 16 of the enforcement ordinance of the same act.
