Yoon Dae-won, chairman of Ilsong Academy, a school corporation that led Hallym University Medical Center, passed away at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital in Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 25th. He was 79.

The deceased was born in 1945 as the eldest son of the founder of Ilsong Academy, a school corporation of Yoon Deok-seon, graduated from Catholic University Medical School in 1969 and completed a master's and doctorate in medicine at the graduate school. After studying organ transplantation and advanced medicine at Columbia University's surgical classroom in 1979, he returned to Korea the following year and worked as a surgeon at Hallym University's Gangnam Sacred Heart Hospital to take care of patients. The deceased succeeded in pancreatic transplantation for the first time in Korea in 1987, suggesting a new possibility of treating diabetes. The deceased took office in 1989 as the second chairman of Ilsong Academy, a school corporation, and led Hallym University Medical Center, Hallym University, Hallym Sacred Heart University, and Hallym International Graduate University.
