Thank you to all of the students who have signed up to the Hallym January 2022 Online & Live Korean Studies Taster Program. An email has been sent to all participating students giving further instructions.

Please remember to reply to the email that Hallym will send on January 7th to confirm your place on the program.

Hallym University Korean Studies Taster Program will take place Tuesday 25th to Thursday 27th January, 2022. The program will run twice per day (Korean 09.00 morning time & 18.00 Korean afternoon time). Please note individual students have been notified by email of which program they will participate in and a link to convert this start time to local time has been emailed to individual students.

Each daily program will be spread over 90 minutes per day in which students will learn about the following topics:

Korean New Year Holiday (Seollal) History & Tradition

Korean Etiquette and International Business in Korea

Social Issues in Modern Korean Society

During each 90-minute taster session students will participate in live traditional style lecture with input from the professors before going into small break out groups for group discussion with fellow international students’. Students are required to participate in the full three-day program to aide smooth transition during the break out phase of the classes.

The composition of the daily break out groups will be varied allowing students to meet a wide variety of people from different countries and backgrounds.

Students from 18 different countries and 21 partner universities’ will participate in the morning and afternoons sessions making the program a truly global event!

Student feedback from the January 2021 Korean Studies Taster Program stated that one of their favourite aspects of the program was being able to keep in touch with the international friends they made during the program, so please take the opportunity to swap contact information during the program if you wish, as Hallym will be unable to share student contact information later due to data protection laws.
