Opening Ceremony of Hallym University OPEN Station

Open industrial-educational cooperation convergence complex opened on 5,000 square meters of university site in Chuncheon City.

President Choi Yanghee anticipates the site to be a bridgehead that strongly promotes the Core Vision of Gangwon-do, Chuncheon-si, and Hallym University.

□ Hallym University created Hallym OPEN Station, an open-type industrial - educational cooperation convergence complex, and held an opening ceremony on Wednesday 14th September. 

□ OPEN Station is an open industrial - educational convergence complex with a site of 5,000 square meters and a total floor area of 1,500 square meters, at 292-38, Chungyeol-ro, Chuncheon-si. 

□ The event was attended by President Choi Yanghee, Chuncheon Mayor Yuk Dong-han, Chuncheon City Council Chairman Kim Jinho, Gangwon Technopark acting President Roh Beomshik, as well as representatives of resident companies and more than 100 Hallym University officials.

□ Hallym OPEN Station construction plan was initially conceived 2017, and Gangwon-do, Chuncheon-si, and Hallym University invested in the project to discover promising local businesses and operate the 4th Industrial Revolution-linked program for business creation. 

Technopark SW Industry Promotion Center, Hallym University Maker Space, and private companies related to the 4th industry will move in. 

□ Hallym University plans to provide a venue for deriving problem-solving solutions by applying the university's cutting-edge technology and know-how to local issues through the OPEN Station, establishing a cluster connected with related institutions inside and outside the province, and providing a prototype design center and an experiential educational space.

□ Hallym President Choi Yanghee gave his opening remarks, “Hallym Open Station was made possible thanks to the full support of Gangwon-do and Chuncheon,” he said. “ I expect that various high-tech companies and venture companies will move in to become a bridgehead that strongly promotes the core vision of Gangwon -do, Chuncheon -si, and Hallym University.”

□ Chuncheon Mayor Yuk Dong-han said in his congratulatory remarks, “ I am very grateful for the practice of open university operation with the local community which will lower the barriers of further education to the public.
