“The New Hallym” starts in earnest

Promotion of specialization in advanced and promising fields such as software (SW), artificial intelligence (AI), and data science through the establishment of the 'College of Information Sciences'. 

• Medical ․Nurturing and promoting research in leading institutes such as Bio Convergence Research Institute, AI Convergence Research Institute, and Hallym Academy of Sciences. 

• Reorganizing the library and lifelong education center into a knowledge media center and community university, respectively, to realize an open university. 

• Establishment of a ‘student growth’ support center that supports student growth in an integrated way.

□ Hallym University announced that it would carry out organizational restructuring to promote “Hallym Vision 2030+” as of April 1st. 

Hallym University, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, under the slogan “The New Hallym”, plans to use this anniversary as a springboard to signal its new era.

□ An outline of this organizational restructuring, which will be carried out under the leadership of President Choi Yanghee is summarized, below.

△Specialization of advanced and promising fields such as software (SW), artificial intelligence (AI), and Data Science.

△Fostering leading research institutes (Flagship Institutes) and research promotion.

△Strategic planning of the university headquarters.

These include:

△ Strengthening cooperation capacity.

△ Strengthening support for teaching & learning and student competency growth. 

△Realizing an open university with the further development of lifelong education. 

△Guaranteeing human rights and strengthening safety management.

□ As an academic organization, the College of Information Science will be established by integrating three colleges, faculties, and schools: The College of Software Convergence, School of Artificial Intelligence Convergence and School of Data Science Convergence. With this, Hallym University is expected to lay the foundation for strengthening the university's competitiveness through specialized development in promising fields (SW·AI·Data Science). 

□ As research organizations, the Medical-Bio Convergence Research Institute, AI Convergence Research Institute, and Hallym Academy of Sciences will be intensively fostered as leading research institutes (Flagship Institutes). In addition, the research support team will be reorganized into a research promotion team and a research support team to strengthen the role of research promotion such as research planning and fostering of research institutions.

□ The Office of External Cooperation was established at the university headquarters to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with external institutions and to enhance the university's brand status. 

In addition, the Institute for Future Education Innovation and Strategy Evaluation Team will be established to strengthen innovation strategy R&D and performance evaluation and feedback systems. 

The teaching & learning support organization was unified as the Education Innovation Center, and the Student Growth Support Center was established to provide integrated counseling and support for student growth and development.

□ In addition, the library, which was in charge of collecting and reading academic materials, has been reorganized into a knowledge media center to produce and distribute knowledge having been renovated as a culture complex for creativity and collaboration.

The Lifelong Education Center will be reorganized into a community university to strengthen its role as an open university close to the local community by operating nano-degree programs for lifelong education tailored to social needs and establishing an open platform for civic education.

□ Hallym will establish a human rights center to substantiate the protection of human rights for its members and to actively resolve grievances and difficulties. 

In addition, a safety team in charge of campus safety management has been established to further enhance safety.
 
 □ An official at Hallym University said, “ This reorganization reflects the will of President Choi Yanghee to realize an ‘open university’ ‘a leading university’ ‘a university that further fosters links with the community’ and ‘a university where all members are happy.’
