Hallym University & Samsung Medison sign a business agreement for medical artificial intelligence technology cooperation

Hallym University - Samsung Medison, signed a business agreement for medical artificial intelligence technology cooperation and talent cultivation


Department of Software, College of Information Sciences, 'AI Ultrasound Diagnosis Machine ' Nano degree program operation


□ Hallym University (President Choi Yanghee) signed a business agreement with Samsung Medison (CEO Kim Yong-Kwan) on Tuesday 14th June for technical cooperation in medical artificial intelligence and human resource development. 


□ With this agreement, Samsung Medison agreed to jointly operate the 'AI Ultrasound Diagnostic System ' Nano -Degree program opened and operated by the Department of Software, College of Information Science. 


□ This program is an in-depth education course that reflects the needs of companies to develop major competency centered on field work, and Samsung Medison experts directly participate in the design stage of the entire curriculum as well as the course operation. 


□ 'AI Ultrasound Diagnosis Machine ' Nanodegree was designed with the goal of strengthening the capability of developing image analysis software using artificial intelligence technology in medical ultrasound diagnosis machines. 


□ At the same time, joint efforts were made by establishing a close cooperation system in various industry-academic cooperation projects and talent nurturing programs of the ' Medical Artificial Intelligence Convergence Talent Cultivation Project’, a ministry-type collaboration-type talent nurturing project in 2022 jointly operated by the College of Information Sciences and the College of Medicine.  


□ With this agreement, the university provides field-oriented education, such as using Samsung Medison's infrastructure for practical training, to nurture practical talents, and by cultivating medical artificial intelligence convergence talents to create and lead new industries related to medical services in the local community, thereby contributing to the local economy. 


□ President Choi Yanghee said, “ With this business agreement, we have a great opportunity to nurture field-oriented students guiding them into companies.”  


□ CEO Kim Yong-Kwan said, “ There is a lot of need for young scientists in the fields of medical devices and medical artificial intelligence.” - The company's executives and staff will make every effort to develop into a good win - win relationship. "
