A research team led by Professor Nimse Satish of Hallym University's Department of Chemistry has published their findings on the development and discovery of anticancer drugs in a prestigious international journal.

The paper, which was supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea's Excellent New Research Support Project, is titled 'The microtubule cytoskeleton: A validated target for the development of 2-Aryl-1H-benzo[d]imidazole derivatives as potential anticancer agents' and was published in the international journal Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy.

First author Park Soo-Jung, the master's student who participated in the research, said, "My double-majoring in chemistry and biomedical sciences as an undergraduate student helped me to develop my understanding of interdisciplinary research and my research skills."

"The Department of Chemistry at Hallym University is currently running several research topics, including biomarker detection technology development, live-cell imaging probe development, and drug discovery, to enhance students' professionalism and practical experience," said Professor Nimse Satish.
